eini vode geilschte Family Guy episode isch sie, die multiverse episode!
und jetzt machets es game druus, so geil!
Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse for PS3 and Xbox 360 is based on a beloved episode of the animated TV series known as “Road to the Multiverse”, where Stewie and Brian use a device that allows them to travel to alternate dimensions of their town of Quahog… leading them to see “twisted” versions of the towns inhabitants. Among them include an Amish version of the town… 10 different dimensions/levels will be featured in the game. They aren’t based on actual episodes but on the fiction itself.

However it is that “Amish” theme in which this game is majorly-based. Teaming up with the writers of the TV show who have worked hard to bring the token and trademark humor of the series into videogame form, Stewie and Brian must combat the collective Amish who have been convinced by Stewie’s rival, Bertram, that they are the source of all ills and must therefore be destroyed.

This leads to Stewie and Brian taking up arms against the Amish in brutal third-person shooting combat amongst a large world made up of adventure and RPG elements. Including both cooperative play and full-on four-player multiplayer modes (the latter is confirmed as local offline, not sure about the former).

Brian will wield realworld weapons while Stewie is armed with scifi and novelty weapons.

The gameplay is a mix of shooting, action and platforming, where the world is strewn about with portals that allow you to equip your character with various weapons. These weapons come from “Stewie’s bedroom” and include Brian’s Sniper Rifle and laser guns for Stewie, among others. Brian has access to real-world weapons like a 9mm Pistol and a Jack Daniels bottle of liquor for melee attacks, whereas Stewie uses sci-fi and novelty weapons including an exploding diaper that replaces grenades, a melee Golf Club and the aforementioned laser gun.

In single player you will switch between controlling either Stewie or Brian, whereas in coop you and a friend will control each character. Parts of the environment can be destroyed our interacted with as you attempt to take out the Amish, such as the ability to shoot down behives ontop of enemies, or take cover behind trees. Stewie uses Peter Griffin’s nemesis, the Giant Chicken, as a sort of companion attack dog, who can be summoned to combat enemies alongside you; and works as a power-up.

Here is an interview regarding the game (no gameplay footage shown).

Many of the famous inhabitants of the show make appearances in the game, and all of the voice actors seem like they’ve put in their duties to make the game authentic. Some characters on offer include Amish Peter, Herbert, Greased Up Deaf Guy, their controversial elderly neighbor and many others. I’m sure the series regulars will all make an appearance as well. Voice acting is in heavy use as Stewie and Brian comment on what is going on in the game and throw-out one-liners and jokes as you progress depending on the situation. They also throw out lots of pop-culture references. Other characters will apparently also be playable, although who else remains to be seen.

Multiplayer will have you facing off against other humans, and choosing from various costumes and playable characters. Whom you will surely unlock as you go through the single player. Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse will be released on September 25, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
