Re: The Lord of the Rings Online
Europa isch noni F2P. Und komplett F2P wirds eh nöd: http://www.codemasters.co.uk/lotro/free ... ory=German und sowieso unintressant ab lvl 50. Wichtig wär vielmeh die neu Gebietsexpansion wo's leider vo Afang ah dra kopplet händ. Isch ja verschobe bis uf Weiteres.

rächt guet, s'fanged ah mit building to the epic scale:
The first hint of things to come that players may glimpse is in the Gap of Rohan, an area in the Isengard expansion where a camp of Dunlanders under the influence of Saruman are beginning to congregate. NPCs, dozens (maybe even hundreds) are wandering between tents, talking to each other, resting by fires, readying their weapons and marching in formation. The area is absolutely teeming with NPCs. I've seen a lot of MMOs doing a lot of impressive things in my time in the industry, but the illusion of NPCs moving independently but aware somehow aware of each other was convincing, and took me completely by surprise.
When I asked some of the developers from Turbine, the team behind Lord of the Rings Online, whether this section was a preamble of things to come, they happily admitted it was. Turbine is well aware that events of an enormous scale are on their way in the story, and it needs to make sure that the game will be able to cope. If it can't, Turbine needs to change things to make sure that it can, and that is a time-consuming process. So they are, intelligently, starting early.

zueghä, das tönt für einisch würklich guet!

A music festival in LotRO
I often get the feeling these days that some of the most interesting stuff in the MMOsphere is coming out of Lord of the Rings Online – and this week, I got yet more evidence for my theory. Namely, Weatherstock.
What’s Weatherstock? It’s a HUGE – and I mean massive, as the picture in this post from Bio Break attests, hundreds of characters – music festival in LoTRO. Yes, music festival.
It turns out that LoTRO’s music-making features are very, very powerful – powerful enough to enable dozens of people to form online, hobbit-based (well, OK, not all of them) bands. Here’s 4 hours (I recommend skipping through it at random and stopping at the fun bits) of footage of the event from Middle Earth TV. http://www.livestream.com/middleearthtv ... d936002d05
I really can’t think of any other MMO that could enable this sort of event – not even Second Life, where any single island would freeze up and die with a tenth of this attendance, or WoW, whose RPers would certainly be up for doing this sort of thing, but doesn’t have anywhere near the flexibility to make it possible.
A Casual Stroll To Mordor’s got a whole bunch of interviews with various bands playing at the event up – they’re interesting reading too, with everyone from professional-level musicians to people who’ve never played in public before. http://www.casualstrolltomordor.com/tag/weatherstock/
Frankly, this sort of thing makes me want to reactivate my LoTRO account. Goddamn, it’s cool.

Re: The Lord of the Rings Online
schätzli, zeig mir was über lotro gläse hesch wo nöd guet tönt hett.Sylvara hat geschrieben:zueghä, das tönt für einisch würklich guet!

bescht (will kuulscht und agnähm sophisticated) community wo gitts, drum chan au so zügs det passiere.
zum instrumäntespiel mueme aber säge, dass e paar da wohl "bschiissed" mit enere software, hans nöd rächt verstande wie die funzt. eigetli spielt me d'musig per taschtatur. aber paar findigi händ es progi gschriebe wo einigi bruuched wo da jenschtes automatisiert. klar gaht au det zersch no kreativität voruus aber so ganz würkli realtime live gschpielt ischs dänn nüme. vilech hett me die lüüt zwar mal ohni mis wüsse scho lang mit schimpf und schande usegrüehrt. guet wär's...
